Jan's Poetic Collection (A-Z)

WHY IS CUPID NUDE?

You were like an angel,
Came to my life.
And swept me off my feet,
I got pains in the past,
Love was for me,
A bitter taste.
Yet, when you come,
I don't know why,
I wanted to give,
Love another try.
I showed you all the care,
Tried to make you happy,
But it wasn't to be.
And the more I tried--
To shower you with joys,
The more pains--
I made you get.
Never thought I won't--
Be able to impress you.
But as it had to be,
You were waiting for--
Someone better than me.
Someone who would take you out,
And make you spend,
Every evening in candle light,
Someone who would shower,
And his riches on you,
Someone as beautiful as--
Cupid, the love god.
I stood nowhere in your eyes,
You made me believe,
That my surmise,
Wasn't right.
Love isn't all about caring,
It's about showering,
Money and being beautiful,
Even if there isn't feeling in between.
And so I had to decide,
Yes, Love wasn't my cup of tea,
I had no money,
Or beauty,
So, now I'm walking back,
To the place I was before,
Yes, it was my mistake,
I'm not an actor,
Neither a star,
How could I even,
Fall in love with her.
But my dear,
One day when you have,
Someone cute & rich,
You'll realize,
Love doesn't cost anything,
We came nude on earth,
Will go back nude,
So, when we are in love
Cupid strikes the heart.
And as is so obvious,
He is always nude,
Yet strikes every heart at least once.
